#Plettbeaches
There are so many beautiful beaches to enjoy in Plett which is why it is one of the most popular beach and coastal destinations in Africa.
The town’s 35 km of picturesque Indian Ocean coastline features 15 km of pristine, unspoilt sandy beaches.
Plettenberg Bay won the title ‘Africa’s Leading Beach Destination’ in 2020 with the World Travel Awards which is testament to its beauty.
There are many different beaches to choose from in Plett. Some have lagoon areas for young children and others are hot surfing and bodyboarding spots for the more adventurous.
Plett has six premier “Blue Flag” status beaches,
Robberg 5, Lookout Beach, Keurboomstrand, The Dunes, The Singing Kettle and Nature’s Valley.
From all the beaches you may spot some of the marine mammals that visit our bay, whales, dolphins, seals and more. Look out for the beautiful Pansy Shell when enjoying a walk on the beach.
With the backdrop of majestic mountains, it is no wonder the Portuguese called it Bahia Formosa-Beautiful Bay!
Plett Tourism is thrilled to announce that in addition to being nominated as Africa’s Leading Beach Destination for the 15th year, they have been nominated as the World’s Leading Beach Destination in the World Travel Awards this year.
Please read beach signs, speak to lifeguards, and contact the NSRI for specific safety questions as below is a guide only.
Robberg Nature Reserve

#Robbergnatureserve
Robberg Nature reserve is a peninsula very popular with hikers. The Peninsula hugs the bay at the end of Robberg Beach. From the reserve, you have stunning views of the bay, a large variety of Fynbos and birds, the seal colony, ancient caves, beautiful beaches, and rock pools.
Please get details with regards to tides, etc and perhaps take a guide with you if you are unsure. We do not recommend swimming on the beaches on the “wild side” of the reserve. Robberg is a must when visiting Plettenberg Bay.
Robberg Beach

#Robbergbeach
This is a very popular beach with holidaymakers; there are some stunning villas all along the beach. It is great for walking, soaking up the sun and swimming. Please be aware of currents and sea conditions. The beach stretches from the rocks at the Beacon Island all the way to the Robberg Nature Reserve.
There are ablutions at designated spots along the beach.
Central Beach and
Hobie Beach

#Centralbeach
Central Beach is a wonderful swimming beach and therefore very popular. It always has a festive atmosphere. There is a restaurant, the ski boat club, ablutions, and a takeaway shop on the beach.
A little further on is Hobie Beach which hosts the boats for whale watching, fishermen, sailing yacht and sea kayaking. The corner of Hobie Beach is popular with surfers.
Lookout Beach

#Lookoutbeach
A beautiful beach with the mountains as your backdrop.
Wonderful for walks and swimming and one can walk round to the lagoon for the best of both worlds.
The Lagoon

#Thelagoon
Plettenberg Bay has a large lagoon with beautiful beaches. Ideal for swimming, windsurfing, fishing, canoeing, and walking.
The lagoon is very popular with families who have small children.
Keurbooms Beach

#Keurbooms
This beach is truly beautiful. It is a huge beach that seems to go on forever. It is never crowded and the ideal spot for nature lovers. Take long walks, soak up the sun and enjoy the natural splendour of this beach.
There are quite rough currents one can possibly splash around, but we do not suggest swimming. Keurbooms is also popular for fishermen.
Arch Rock

#Archrock
To the left of Enrico’s restaurant is a wonderful hike at low tide to Arch Rock, beautiful rock pools, the “blow hole” ancient Middens, a lagoon, and the magnificent Arch Rock make this hike unforgettable.
You will probably be lucky enough to spot the oystercatcher bird. Again, swimming is not recommended – just safe paddling. “Robinson Crusoe” was shot here due to its natural beauty.
Natures Valley

#Naturesvalleybeach
This beach is approximately 15-20 minutes’ drive from Plettenberg Bay.
With its stunning lagoon ideal for swimming, beautiful beach and nature reserve with stunning forest Natures Valley is paradise.
Swimming in the sea could be dangerous due to currents. Natures Valley is the end of the Otto Trail and has some wonderful hiking trails and picnic spots.
